On June 20, NOAA signed the renewal of a Cooperative Agreement with the University of Maryland/Earth System Science Interdisciplinary Center (ESSIC) extending the Cooperative Institute for Climate and Satellites (CICS) for another five years: July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2019. CICS-MD Director Hugo Berbery notes that winning the renewal proposal was a team effort, bolstered by the quality work produced by our top-notch scientists and the wide array of expertise we offer NOAA. The new $93 million dollar agreement is led by Fernando Miralles-Wilhelm, Tony Busalacchi, Hugo Berbery and Otis Brown. ESSIC Press Release.
