Ellen Buckley is a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Maryland in Atmospheric and Oceanic Science. She is a PhD candidate under Dr. Sinead Farrell, studying remote sensing of Arctic sea ice. Specifically, she is using high-resolution airborne and satellite data to understand the melt processes of sea ice in the summer. Ellen has a B.S. from the University of Virginia in Civil and Environmental Engineering (2014), a M.S. degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Stanford University (2015), and a M.S. degree in Atmospheric and Oceanic Science from the University of Maryland (2019).
