Eric Freeman
Eric Freeman is a Surface Marine Data Specialist at NOAA's National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI). Duties include managing surface marine atmospheric and oceanographic observations as well as managing historical climate data for the International Comprehensive Ocean-Atmosphere Data Set (ICOADS) dating back to the 1660s. Freeman works with the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) on marine observing and marine climate data management policies and best practices having served on numerous Task Teams and as a former Chair (and Member) of the Expert Team on Marine Climatology. He is currently serving as a member of the WMO Expert Team on Audit and Certifications (ET-AC). In his spare time he enjoys remodeling historic homes, inspecting new/old homes (as a licensed NC Home Inspector), and playing out in the woods and on the water in beautiful Western North Carolina with his family.
