Lalitha Asirvadam is an ESSIC Faculty Assistant working for the NOAA Coral Reef Information System (CoRIS) via the Cooperative Institute for Satellite Earth System Studies (CISESS). She previously worked as Technical Coordinator for GRIIDC-- the data repository for the Gulf of Mexico Research Initiative (GoMRI) program at the Harte Research Institute for Gulf of Mexico Studies at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. She has 13 years of diverse experience in data management; research program management; marine science outreach and education; environmental consulting; and state environmental regulation. She earned an interdisciplinary Master's degree in Marine Biodiversity and Conservation from Scripps Institution of Oceanography in San Diego, California. Her Master's project was on mangrove conservation in the Caribbean nation of Curaçao with a focus on policy, economics, and public outreach. She earned a Bachelor's in Conservation Geography and Marine Science at the University of Texas at Austin.
