Xiaoxu Tian, PhD, is a Post-Doctoral Associate for the Earth System Science Interdisciplinary Center at the University of Maryland. He earned his B.S. and M.S. in Meteorology from Florida State University in 2012 and 2014, respectively. He then obtained a doctoral degree in the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences at University of Maryland in 2017. His dissertation title is “Improved satellite microwave retrievals and their incorporation into a simplified 4D-Var vortex initialization using adjoint techniques”. He is currently working on global temperature profile retrievals with ATMS observations.
