Yuling Liu is an Assistant Research Scientist in the Cooperative Institute for Climate and Satellites (CICS) at the Earth System Science Interdisciplinary Center (ESSIC) of the University of Maryland. She received B.S. in geography from Beijing Normal University, China in 1999, M.S. in Remote Sensing and GIS from Peking University, China in 2002 and Ph.D. in urban engineering from Kyoto University, Japan in 2010. Her research interests include satellite data retrieval algorithms and validation, land surface model and data assimilation, and environmental data product applications. She is currently working on Land Surface Temperature product retrieval algorithm development and validation.
