Office of Marine and Aviation Operation (OMAO) Fleet Data Assembly Center

NCEI will continue to act as a Data Assembly Center to steward NOAA Office of Marine and Aviation Operation (OMAO) owned and managed environmental data from the NOAA fleet. Automations will be set up to acquire, archive, and provide public access to NOAA Fleet data submitted to NCEI. Automations will also be developed to access the completeness of NOAA Fleet data and metadata and provide QA reports to OMAO’s Data Manager and technicians. A publicly available discovery portal is expected to be developed to integrate all NOAA Fleet data into one for users to search and discover NOAA fleet data. Extended data stewardship will be applied to datatypes, such as data from ADCP, CTD and TSG data; QA/QC process will be developed and QA/QC reports will be written and made available to OMAO’s Data Manager and technicians. Science quality data will be included in NCEI products, such as WOD, GOCD and TSG Databases. This year, Fred Katz will be assisted by Faculty Assistant Alexandra Grodsky.
