Oceanographic satellite data is made accessible and usable for environmental decision-making and management in the Pacific Islands Region by engaging with users on their needs, conducting outreach about the data and services, and providing education on satellite data products and analysis. The NOAA OceanWatch Central Pacific Regional Node engages with local researchers and stakeholders to develop data applications for informed decision-making and increased environmental understanding. Specific datasets to meet user needs will be provided, and application products will be developed for NOAA’s National Marine Fisheries Service. In addition, education will be provided in the form of a satellite data training class for researchers and managers in the Pacific Islands region.
