Korak Saha
Korak Saha, received a B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree in physics from, Panjab University, Chandigarh, India in 2000 and 2002 respectively. He received a PhD in physics (microwave remote sensing) from the Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), Kochi, India in 2009. During obtaining PhD degree, he worked as a research scholar at Indian Space and Research Organisation. His thesis dealt with atmospheric correction techniques in the GPS signal for aircraft navigation and using GPS data for near-real time watervapor estimation. He also worked in the Indo-French Megha-Tropique project for land emissivity retrieval from the microwave imagers. From 2010 to 2014 he worked at NOAA/NESDIS/STAR as a Colorado State University cooperative institute, CIRA postdoctoral scientist. During his tenure at STAR he worked with the SST team to develop and test algorithms for Sea surface Temperature (SST) retrievals from polar satellites. Since September 2014 he is working with the NOAA/NESDIS/NCEI, as a ESSIC Research Associate and his work involves archival, preserve, disseminate and ensure longtime utility of surface oceanographic dataset. He is involved with SST Climate data record generation and its archival. He is also contributing to NOAA NCEI's effort to use cloud based technology for geophysical data analysis."
