Summer Internships

The UMD Cooperative Institute for Satellite Earth System Studies (CISESS) has 20+ summer internships available with our scientists to work on NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) projects. These are paid 10-week (or 12-week) internships for 20 (or up to 40) hours per week. We have a large range of topics including climate studies, satellite data assimilation, artificial intelligence, 3D visualization of meteorology maps, and more. See what our students did last year at our website: We are located in the UMD Discovery District across the street from the NOAA Center for Weather and Climate Prediction. Please email your resume by June 1 to Deb Baker, CISESS Coordinator, at
