Ron Vogel, Senior Faculty Specialist at University of Maryland's Earth System Science Interdisciplinary Center, is a satellite remote sensing scientist applying earth-observation satellite data to environmental decision-making. He works with decision-makers to develop analyses and tools for water quality, climate change and fisheries in coastal areas. Other interests include ecological modeling with satellite data and vegetation and land surface monitoring by satellite. He has expertise in both visible and infrared satellite remote sensing. Ron received a BA in environmental science with honors from Wesleyan University and an MS in marine science from University of South Carolina with an emphasis in coastal and estuarine processes.
