CICS-MD Scientist Augustin Vintzileos helped develop the Global Tropics Hazards and Benefits Outlook (GTH) product which provides a weekly tropical outlook for precipitation and tropical cyclone potential for the upcoming two weeks. The GTH issued this week on August 20, shown below, forecasts an enhanced North American monsoon and elevated odds for tropical storm development in the tropical Atlantic Ocean.
