Summer Internships
The UMD Cooperative Institute for Satellite Earth System Studies (CISESS) offers paid summer internships mentored by our CISESS scientists to work on NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) projects.
The program is aimed at Undergraduates and High School seniors. It has an extensive range of topics, including climate studies, satellite data assimilation, artificial intelligence, 3D visualization, support for the remote sensing laboratory, and more. See what our students did last year at our website: https://cisess.umd.edu/outreach/students-page/.
This year, the Earth System Science Interdisciplinary Center (ESSIC) will provide additional funding to support more interns, specifically on climate studies and local impacts of our changing climate.
We are located in the UMD Discovery District across the street from the NOAA Center for Weather and Climate Prediction. Interns receive payment for 10 - 12 weeks working 20 hours per week.
Please email your resume by March 29 to Deb Baker, CISESS Coordinator, at drb@umd.edu. You will receive formal notification of your internship no earlier than May 1.
