The Advanced Baseline Imager (ABI) data from new GOES-16(R) and GOES-17(S) satellites will be used to improve snow cover products. This project will develop the retrieval algorithms as well as the new products. Given the higher temporal resolution of the ABI, we will be able to update snow cover, snow depth and other products more often than once a day, something that no other national or international weather agency currently does.
