The objective of the study is to merge the Geostationary Lightning Mapper (GLM) and the Lightning Imaging Sensor (LIS) on the International Space Station (ISS) datasets by developing a statistical model to downscale GLM resolution, and to increase space-based total lightning detection efficiency by combining the two observations, and enable the integration of observations from any future Low Earth Orbit (LEO) lightning imagers, to enhance the precision of GLM measurements for operational and scientific applications.
