Oceanographic satellite data is made accessible and usable for environmental decision-making and management in the coastal zone by engaging with users on their needs, conducting outreach about the data and services, and providing education on satellite data products and analysis. The NOAA CoastWatch East Coast Regional Node engages with researchers and coastal managers and then develops data applications for informed decision-making and increased environmental understanding. Specific datasets to meet user needs will be provided, and application products will be developed for NOAA’s National Ocean Service and National Marine Fisheries Service. In addition education will be provided in the form of a satellite data training class for researchers and managers in the U.S. east coast region.
