Sheekela Baker-Yeboah wins Technology Rising Star Award
CISESS Scientist Sheekela Baker-Yeboah has won a Women of Color (WOC) STEM Outstanding Achievement Award. These awards, sponsored by Women of Color Magazine, are granted to individuals in the workforce and are recommended for these awards by their employer. The award she will be receiving is the Technology Rising Star award. Rising Stars are young women, approximately 1 to 22 years in the workforce, who are helping to shape technology for the future. Baker-Yeboah has earned this recognition through her work with NOAA NCEI and STAR SOCD. She will be honored along with the other award winners at the Women of Color STEM Conference, to be held October 3 - 5 in Detroit.
