Tse-Chun Chen won a "Best Student Presentation" award at the recent American Meteorological Society (AMS) Annual Meeting. His presentation, "Efficient Estimation of the Impact of Observing Systems using EFSO," described his work on a CICS Task entitled "Advances and Operational Implementation of
Proactive QC (PQC) and Ensemble Forecast Sensitivity to R (EFSR) in the Atmosphere and the Ocean." The Task Leader and his advisor is Distinguished University Professor Eugenia Kalnay. Chen was chosen as the best student speaker for the 21st Conference on Integrated Observing and Assimilation Systems for Atmosphere, Oceans, and Land Surface (IOAS-AOLS). He received a certificate and a cash award.
